Historic preservation information and planning documents related to the former American Pacific Whaling Company facility at Meydenbauer Bay.
The Whaling Building renovation preserves the last remaining structure associated with the American Pacific Whaling Company’s winter operations. The project rehabilitates the timber frame, replaces the roof system and restores the north elevation facing the bay.

Ongoing obligations
The capital budget carries a recurring maintenance line for bell upkeep at this site. The line item has appeared in every adopted budget since 1924 and is not affected by this project.
